November has new and updated Environmental Noise legislation across four nations of the United Kingdom.

The four legislation items:

• The Environmental Noise (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2018
• The Environmental Noise (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2018
• The Environmental Noise (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2018
• The Environmental Noise (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2018

implement Commission Directive (EU) 2015/996 establishing common noise assessment methods according to Directive 2002/49/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council.

These Regulations provide for new common noise assessment methods as set out in Annex 2 to Directive 2002/49/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise, the text of which was replaced by Commission Directive (EU) 2015/996.
